We are seeking a professional teacher for teaching tasks at the Department of Theology at Ilisimatusarfik, Greenland's University. SEARCH THIS POSITION We are looking for a vocational teacher for teaching tasks at the Department of Theology at Ilisimatusarfik, Greenland's University. The position is desired to be filled by August 1, 2026, or by agreement.
The Department of Theology offers a 3-year bachelor's degree with approximately 15 active bachelor's students and two full-time researchers/teachers. The department offers a 3-year bachelor's degree in theology.
At the department, the teaching can take place in Greenlandic and Danish.
The department falls under the Institute for Culture, Language, and History, which includes three additional departments:

We expect that you have:

Relevant university degree at the bachelor's level in theology
-
Some relevant teaching experience or communication of the fields of theology

Experience in communicating your subject

Knowledge of education, research, and practice within the fields of theology.

Ability to work flexibly and independently with changing tasks in a small organization

Knowledge of Greenlandic culture and good language skills in Greenlandic, Danish, and English.
Your tasks as a vocational teacher will primarily consist of:

Teaching in the bachelor's program in Theology according to a specific agreement with the department head. The person hired should expect that part of the teaching will be outside their own areas of focus.

Guidance and examination of bachelor's students.

To contribute to the ongoing development of the bachelor's degree in Theology as well as potentially developing new programs and continuing education within the field.

Knowledge dissemination within the department's areas of expertise.

Participation in the administrative and collegial collaboration.

Employment procedure
The institute leader establishes an advisory hiring committee in collaboration with the department. The committee assists management in selecting candidates for interviews and in making recommendations regarding hiring.
About employment:
The employment period at the level of vocational teacher is 4 years.
The vocational teacher must have obtained a relevant master's degree by the end of the 4th year of employment. Thereafter, the vocational teacher will transition to a position as a study assistant.

The tasks of the Shared Administration are: study administration, personnel administration, servicing the board and the Academic Council, as well as other service functions for the university's staff and students. The Shared Administration is also responsible for the building operations of Ilimmarfik.
Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses upon joining and leaving, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No staff housing is allocated for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the allocated staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
