SEARCH THIS POSITION Would you like to help create even better education in Greenland? The development of the education sector is a high priority to create the best educational opportunities for everyone and ensure a qualified workforce for the business community. The Department of Education, Culture, Sports and Church is therefore seeking a new colleague who will be responsible for the development and processing of education in the fisheries technical area and will serve as the secretary for Greenland's National Education Council.
The content of the position
There is a strong focus on the development of fisheries vocational education in Greenland, so that it can meet the needs of society in the coming years. The position will therefore include many different and varied tasks – you will be one of those responsible for several of the schools in the vocational education area EUD, and you will also need to participate in development and data collection tasks as our work is based on these cornerstones.
The main responsibilities will be:

Perform the secretarial function and the associated tasks in relation to Greenland's National Education Council.

Manage tasks related to "your" branch schools and the EUD area in general, including approval of study regulations, supervisory tasks, and case processing within the fisheries technical education programs.

Political servicing, such as the preparation of notes, reports, statements, mandates, speeches, and press releases, as well as answering §37 questions from politicians regarding the area of vocational education (Questions that the Inatsisartut can pose to the Naalakkersuisut).

Participation in meetings including commissions, committees, working groups, and councils

Participation in cross-departmental development projects with other departments

Secure the work in relation to the Minister/Government / Parliament

Other ad hoc tasks in the education sector
We are looking for an AC officer or special consultant who is professionally skilled and engaged, independently thinking, and has the ability and desire to participate in independent, collaborative teams in a department that values development highly. We are looking for someone who takes pride in delivering solid professional craftsmanship and approaches their tasks in a structured manner. Tasks that range widely from administration and operations to development and political servicing.

You have a relevant higher education at the master's level.

You have experience from a similar position, preferably within the fishing sector or from a position in the education sector.

You have an overview and can work under pressure.

You have a good knowledge of Greenlandic society.

You are strong in Greenlandic, Danish, and English.

You have an overview and can maintain the overview in a complex process.

You are interested in working with vocational education, particularly in the technical education related to fishing.
The Department of Education, Culture, Sports, and Church has a wide range of tasks – from serving the Minister to overall management of the sector. Overall, the sector works to raise the educational level of society and strengthen culture.
The department has approximately 35 employees, of which 10 are employed in the education department.

Salary and employment conditions
This is a position for employment as an AC Officer. A candidate with the right skills and sufficient experience can be employed as a Special Consultant. Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, are in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
