Tusass plays a central role in the operation and development of Greenland's critically important communication infrastructure. We operate in a constantly evolving technological landscape, where the demands for uptime, quality, and secure communication at sea, in the air, and on land are high.

We are looking for an independent, responsible, and technically skilled technician for Teknik Transmission Aasiaat, in a temporary position from early February to late October, who will help ensure the operation and maintenance of transmission equipment in the area from Upernavik to Sisimiut.

The department is part of the Operate function under the technical division T&I and consists of a workshop manager and two technicians. The position is based in Aasiaat and has a particular focus on the operation of Aasiaat Radio as well as transmission-related customer systems in the region.

About the position

As a technician at Teknik Transmission Aasiaat, you will have a versatile and responsible role with a wide range of responsibilities. Your tasks will range from daily operations and maintenance to participation in construction projects and emergency work.

Your tasks will include:

• Operation and maintenance of Aasiaat Radio, including coastal and air communication
• Maintenance of LH and Minilink radio chain systems
• Work with radio broadcasting, DVB-T transmitters, and HF and VHF communication equipment
• Troubleshooting and debugging of transmission equipment across the area
• Participation in construction projects as well as project management on smaller projects
• Coordination of troubleshooting across departments
• Participation in the department's emergency preparedness
• Assist other transmission areas as needed.

Your profile

You have a solid technical background in the telecommunications and transmission field and thrive with independent responsibility in a daily routine where tasks vary.

We expect that you:

• Is trained as an electronics technician, electronics technologist, or equivalent.
• Has experience with telecommunication installations and operations.
• Has knowledge of communication circuits (satellite, submarine cable, radio, telephone)
• Can analyze relationships in complex technical installations.
• Has overall knowledge of servers, routers, and switches.
• Works in a structured, thorough, and responsible manner
• Is punctual, flexible, and thrives in a sometimes busy everyday life.
• Has good collaboration skills – even when the collaboration takes place over the phone.
• Mastery of Danish and English in writing and speech (Greenlandic is an advantage)
