Kommune Kujalleq is currently in a unique position, as the Parliament's law on child support has been temporarily suspended. This means we are in a transitional phase, and since November 2024, the government has temporarily assumed higher-level responsibilities. In the coming days, you will notice our close cooperation with social workers and the Social Services Agency. As a head of social work, you will have opportunities for professional consultation and support, enabling you to develop your tasks and create safe boundaries for your colleagues.

Your new tasks will include:

• Contributing to the development of new initiatives that strengthen the well-being of children and youth.
• Serving as an important coordinator and leader for caseworkers and case management.
• Ensuring knowledge and understanding of tasks in close collaboration with caseworkers.
• Working on prevention and outreach in collaboration with various organizations and the local community.
• Taking ownership of projects and case management to ensure their continuity.
• Contributing to the well-being of employees, including planning for social work emergencies.

About you:

We envision you are trained as a social worker with a strong foundation in the field. You can remain calm in challenging situations and have a holistic perspective. You are courageous and enjoy working with colleagues to support vulnerable children and youth in Kommune Kujalleq.

It would be advantageous if you:

• Are trained as a social worker, preferably with relevant further education.
• Have leadership experience or are willing to try it.
• Thrive in a good team and enjoy living in a place surrounded by nature.

• Are curious and skilled at finding solutions.

Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between the Government and the Association of Social Workers and Case Managers in the Government and Municipalities.

Housing may be provided with the position, and rent and other expenses will be paid according to applicable regulations.

Furthermore, after at least three years of employment, moving expenses due to resignation or transfer will be covered according to applicable regulations.
