Secretary to the Chairman of the Inatsisartut

The Bureau for the Inatsisartut is seeking a secretary for the parliamentary chairman. The position requires administrative experience from the public sector and preferably an academic degree. Responsibilities include organizing meetings, travel, and representative tasks. Good communication skills, knowledge of Greenlandic, and the ability to work independently and proactively are expected.

The Bureau of the Inatsisartut is seeking a secretary for the parliamentary chairman.

A person is sought who has the will and desire to work in an exciting and very varied environment. As a starting point, applicants with administrative experience from the public sector are sought in a broad sense. We prefer that you have an academic education, but it is not crucial if you have relevant work experience.

Your work tasks:

  • Assistance with the organization and execution of the chairman's tasks during the meetings
  • Manage the calendar function for the chairman with appointments both internally and externally.
  • Organization and participation in the meetings and travels of the parliamentary chairman
  • Assist in responding to verbal and written inquiries.
  • Assistance with the planning and execution of meetings in the Presidency
  • Minutes from the chairmanship meetings
  • Preparations for the awarding of merit medals
  • Preparation of the chairman's representative tasks

About you:

The position involves extensive contact with many people, and as the secretary for the chairman, emphasis will be placed on your:

  • Has a relevant education
  • Is professionally well-founded and interested in working closely with parliamentary tasks.
  • Has good communication skills - both verbally and in writing
  • Is Greenlandic speaking
  • Has the will to independently structure your tasks and daily life,
  • Is outgoing
  • I want to engage in a close and constructive collaboration with your colleagues in the agency.
  • Thrives on the fact that everyday life can be busy, and that workdays can sometimes be long.

We expect that you are also able to collaborate with all departments in the Bureau of Inatsisartut. Therefore, it is necessary that you are capable of overseeing both professional and political issues. In addition to a relevant education and work experience, emphasis will be placed on a thorough knowledge of our country and our societal conditions, including the political system. It will also be a significant advantage if you have competencies in English. In this position, you will report to the deputy director.

Salary and employment conditions

There is a 40-hour workweek. Salary and employment conditions will follow the relevant collective agreement with the associated ministerial secretary allowance. Housing can be provided for the position, for which payment will be made according to applicable rules. However, due to the housing situation in Nuuk, a period of accommodation in temporary housing should be expected before permanent housing can be arranged. There is a right to relocation travel and moving of personal belongings in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreements.

Commencement as soon as possible and job interviews are held continuously.
