We are seeking two dedicated and compassionate social or healthcare professionals for our Qinngorput residential unit in Nuuk. This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week with rotating shifts. You will assist residents with mental disabilities and substance abuse issues in developing their skills and living independent lives.

We are looking for two dedicated and compassionate social or healthcare professionals for our Qinngorput residential unit here in Nuuk. This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, and you should expect rotating shifts.

Qinngorput is one of our larger residential units in Nuuk, housing 21 residents with mental disabilities and substance abuse issues. Residents have their own apartments and use the unit's two communal apartments for cooking, dining, and socializing. Your core task will be to help residents develop their psychological, social, and practical skills to live as independently as possible. Together with your colleagues, you will support residents in living a fulfilling life as they desire. You will be part of a staff group of about 20 employees who are either pedagogically or healthcare trained or unskilled.

Your tasks:

· Work on developing residents towards greater self-reliance and improved quality of life, including working with residents' action plans

· Motivate and support residents in daily activities such as walking, shopping, and doctor visits

· Strengthen the community in the residential unit through collaboration with colleagues, leaders, and residents

· You will help develop the unit's offerings to residents and maintain and further develop a high healthcare standard

Tasks are solved in close collaboration with other employees of the residential unit and internal and external partners, including caseworkers, Ikaarsaarfik, Queen Ingrid's Hospital, and the correctional service.

· You are trained as a social helper, healthcare assistant/support person

· Curious and motivated by challenges

· Willing to develop yourself and our department, making a meaningful difference for the resident

· Positive mindset and humor

· Stable, robust, and accommodating

· Experience in psychiatry is an advantage but not a requirement

· Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage but not a requirement

About us:

In this position, you will be part of a larger community. We are a department with eight residential units, five collective homes, two activity and social offerings, and three support corps distributed in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. Therefore, we must point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the police.

Salary and employment terms:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the current agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization at the time of employment.

Employment will be with a 3-month probationary period.

Housing:

No staff housing is available for the position.
