Do you want to make a real difference for children and youth through street sports and street culture? GAME Greenland is looking for a project coordinator to support and develop Playmakers, further develop GAME zones, and establish local collaborations. You will work with young role models and volunteerism in Greenland.
SEARCH THIS POSITION Do you want to help make a real difference for children and young people through street sports and street culture?
GAME Greenland is a collaboration between the Greenlandic Sports Confederation and the international NGO GAME. Since 2021, we have been working together to create positive social change through youth-led street sports and street culture in various cities in Greenland. Our goal is to lower the threshold for participation in sports and communities – so that everyone can join in.
ABOUT THE PLAYMAKER PROGRAM
In the Playmaker program, we educate and support young, volunteer role models (Playmakers) in Greenland. They take local leadership and run weekly activities in street sports such as street basketball, street football, and various other forms of physical activities. Additionally, events for children are organized in collaboration with municipalities. The program is characterized by strong communities focused on inclusion, well-being, and responsibility, rather than competition.
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are looking for a project coordinator for 37 hours a week who can support and develop our Playmakers, further develop existing GAME zones, and help establish new local collaborations.
You are structured, relationship-oriented, and good at meeting young people at eye level. At the same time, you thrive in collaboration with municipal and local actors such as administrations, schools, and leisure clubs. You are also comfortable involving parents and local communities in the activities in GAME zones.
Together with colleagues, you will have a special responsibility for planning and executing our training camps. Twice a year, the Playmakers gather for an intensive weekend focused on role models, conflict management, street mediation, and the integration of life skills into training. The education is based on GAME's universal methods, and you will have a particular focus on continuously ensuring adaptation to the Greenlandic context.
You will refer to Nikoline Olsen, Head of International Operations at GAME.
