Are you the one we are looking for? A Chief Psychologist is sought to lead approximately 12 employees in the nationwide social and psychological counseling based in Nuuk. The position offers professional and personal development opportunities as well as supervision and a dynamic workplace.
Do you want to develop counseling and treatment offerings for all those in education and citizens in the Majoriaq program?
The nationwide counseling is a public service in INULERIVIK under the Department of Children, Youth, and Families. There are 5 counseling centers in the largest educational cities: Qaqortoq, Nuuk, Sisimiut, Aasiaat, and Ilulissat. The purpose is to provide free social and psychological counseling and therapeutic treatment both individually and in groups for students.
It is a full-time position that is desired to be filled as soon as possible or by further agreement.
A person with strong professional, managerial, and personal competencies is sought.
It is an organization where the development aspect is expected to play a significant role in daily operations. The leader is a central figure in the development of the nationwide student counseling. Therefore, the leader must have a solid understanding of the treatment, education, social, and health systems. The chief psychologist reports to the center leader for INULERIVIK and is part of the leadership team at the center.
Management tasks include, among other things,

Professional development and coordination of the employee's tasks in Qinngorneq

Conducting development conversations for the employees at Qinngorneq

Contribute to the implementation of initiatives and decisions in the management team.

Development of advisory options and nationwide offerings, including web counseling

Is a trained psychologist with authorization and possibly specialist training, preferably with experience in psychiatry and supervision.

Inulerivik offers psychological and therapeutic treatment options for children, young people, and adults in mental distress. Additionally, the center provides specialized programs for adults who commit violence or have sexually abusive behavior or thoughts towards children and young people. The center works closely with municipal social workers throughout Greenland and plays a key role in national treatment and prevention efforts.

Employment conditions
The position is currently classified as equivalent to 36. The salary with fixed salary components and personal pension contributions in LR 36 amounts to DKK 57,531 monthly and DKK 690,372 annually as of April 1, 2026.
The working hours are initially 40 hours per week, and there is associated with the position a
commitment of 320 annually and 80 quarterly and the provisions regarding
compensation for lost days off does not apply.
Employment will primarily occur under collective agreement terms, where applicants who are already civil servants according to the civil service laws for public Greenland may be employed under civil servant terms.
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for arrival and departure and relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The working hours are initially 40 hours per week.
Housing
No housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned housing is retained. The housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
