Welcome to the Planning Department

The Planning Department is organizationally under Planning & Authority together with the Department of Building Cases in the Department of Construction and Environment.

Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the municipality's residential areas develop for the benefit of our citizens. In close collaboration with our colleagues, we ensure space for all of us in our physical environment, and that Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is a good place to live and thrive.

You contribute to an inclusive development

You will be responsible for the professional leadership of the planning team, which currently consists of 5 skilled urban planners. The professional leadership includes ensuring that your employees' professional efforts succeed. You will also play a central role in the interdisciplinary tasks in the municipality, as well as in collaboration with citizens and businesses.

Your tasks include, among other things, that you:

·Support the department's employees in municipal planning and strategies

·Handle responses to citizen inquiries related to planning

·Ensure the quality of the department's cases in connection with planning

·Participate in the development of Planning and Authority together with the other management group

In addition, you can see yourself in the following:

·You are educated in technical fields at an academic level and have an understanding of the strategic level in planning

·You can express yourself clearly and visionarily in drawing, writing, and speaking

·You are structured and have an overview – even when things go fast

·You have the ability to create good relationships with external stakeholders and across the organization

·You are eager for the development of the municipality and processes

Criminal record:

This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
