Child and Youth Consultant for MISI – School Area

The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking a Child and Youth Consultant for a fixed-term position in MISI focusing on the school area from November 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027.

MISI (Advisory Center for Children and Youth) works to promote well-being, learning, and development among children and youth in the Municipality of Sermersooq. We offer pedagogical-psychological counseling focused on strengthening the professionals around the child, including advisory teachers, teachers, and school leaders. At the same time, we work interdisciplinary in close collaboration with psychologists, school consultants, and other professionals in MISI to find the best solutions for the children.

Your primary tasks:

·Counseling and guidance to advisory teachers, teachers, and school leaders regarding children's well-being and learning

·Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychologists and other professionals in MISI

·Prepare annual assessments of children receiving special education or other special pedagogical assistance

·Support the implementation of special pedagogical recommendations in practice

·Contribute to professional development and knowledge sharing in MISI

·Other tasks will be agreed upon with the immediate supervisor

We are looking for you, who:

·Are a trained teacher
·An academic supplement, e.g., cand.pæd.psyk or other relevant further education, is an advantage

·Have experience in special education or the pedagogical-psychological field

·Thrive in interdisciplinary collaboration and can contribute actively in teams

·Can work independently and thrive in counseling and guidance tasks

·Have an interest in strengthening professionals through presentations or practice-oriented sparring

∙Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and Employment Conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
