Utoqqaat Illuat is looking for three Health Assistants

Do you want to help create security, quality of life, and a meaningful everyday life for elderly citizens? Utoqqaat Illuat is looking for three committed health assistants.

Utoqqaat Illuat is a round-the-clock institution under the Municipality of Sermersooq. The nursing home has 47 residents distributed across the departments Tungiu, Ippat, Katak, and Pillorissaavik. In addition, we have an activity center, kitchen, cleaning, laundry, caretaker function, and driver function.

We work based on the motto:

“Najugaqartoq qitiutillugu – The resident at the center.”

Your tasks:

∙Provide basic care and support based on the resident's needs, wishes, and resources

∙Support the residents' physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being

∙Observe changes in the residents' health and respond professionally

∙Document care, observations, and agreements clearly and correctly

∙Participate in activities and preventive measures

∙Collaborate with colleagues, management, relatives, and external partners

∙Contribute to a safe, respectful, and dignified everyday life for the residents

We expect you to:

∙Be a trained health assistant or have a corresponding relevant education

∙Have an interest in working with the elderly and people with dementia

∙Be caring, patient, and calm – even in challenging situations

∙Be responsible, stable, flexible, and cooperative

∙Be able to work independently and take initiative

∙Document clearly and distinctly

∙Contribute to a positive work environment

∙Be able to separate work life and private life and adhere to confidentiality

∙Be prepared for changing working hours and to work every other weekend

Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization. Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:
No staff housing can be provided for the position.
