Greenland's Prisons is seeking a social worker/case manager for the supervision department in Aasiaat. The position involves case management, organizing parole releases, and collaborating with external partners. You should have experience in case management and be good at motivating others.
Do you want to help solve an important societal task and are you committed and collaborative, then you might be the one we are looking for for a position in the Department of Corrections in Greenland (PNI) – Greenland's Prison Supervisory Department.
PNI – Greenland's Prison Supervisory Department offers an exciting position as a social worker/caseworker in Aasiaat. The work is varied, challenging, and developmental. You will be part of a team of a total of 14 care workers employed across the country. The work is very independent, with long-distance management from Nuuk. In Aasiaat, you will be a colleague with the uniformed officers in the prison and have close cooperation with the Supervisory Department in Ilulissat.
Your immediate supervisor is the Head of Resocialization based in Nuuk.
Specific areas of responsibility
As a social worker/caseworker in the Supervisory Department in Aasiaat, your daily tasks will include concrete case processing of the inmates' cases, organizing parole releases, supervising parolees and forensic psychiatric clients, as well as community service offenders.
Additionally, it is a significant task to maintain contact with external partners, such as municipalities, healthcare, self-government, and similar.
You are expected to contribute to the development of the case processing area in close collaboration with other colleagues in the Department of Corrections in Greenland (KNP) – Greenland's Prisons.
There may be official trips to the coast and to the settlements as needed.
Our expectations
You have experience with case processing and preferably have a degree as a social worker or similar. You are good at forming an overview and have strong abilities to systematize and plan tasks. You find it exciting to motivate other people. You enjoy having many tasks and can see opportunities and potentials in everyone. You are calm and accommodating towards other people. You speak both Danish and Greenlandic.
Who are we
The prison in Aasiaat has space for 15 inmates. These are both convicted and remand detainees. In KNP – Greenland's Prisons, there are a total of about 150 permanent employees. PNI – Greenland's Prison Supervisory Department has 6 regional offices nationwide, located in Sisimiut, Nuuk, Tasiilaq, Qaqortoq, Aasiaat, and Ilulissat.
KNP – Greenland's Prisons has two main tasks.
· We must ensure the necessary control and security around the enforcement of sentences.
· We must support and motivate the citizens we are in contact with to live a crime-free life.
KNP – Greenland's Prisons is also a training place, as we train correctional officers ourselves.
Salary and employment conditions
You will be employed according to the agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and Atorfillit Kattuffiat for social workers and caseworkers. The salary is determined according to seniority and is expected to be between approximately 23,800 – 27,000 DKK per month excluding any supplements, depending on whether you are a trained social worker or caseworker.
The average working time is 40 hours per week.
The place of employment is the prison in Aasiaat. The employment area is KNP – Greenland's Prisons.
Relocation travel is provided according to the applicable rules at any given time. Unfurnished staff housing may be assigned, for which payment is made according to applicable rules.
