The court in Greenland is seeking authorized psychologists to assist in custody cases as child experts. The task involves conversations with children and the preparation of reports. This is a flexible task with payment per hour.
Do you want to help ensure that children are heard in cases such as custody cases?
The Court in Greenland wishes to expand the circle of authorized psychologists who assist the courts as child experts.
We are therefore looking for authorized psychologists with experience in conversations with children and an interest in taking on tasks as a child expert at the Court in Greenland and the district courts.
About the task
As a child expert, you assist the court in cases involving children.
A significant part of the task consists of participating in child interviews in cases concerning parental responsibility. During the child interview, both the judge and the child expert are present, while it is the child expert who conducts the conversation with the child.
As part of the conversation, you agree with the child on what information should be passed on to the parents. After the conversation, you prepare a written summary with the information from the conversation that the parents should receive.
In rarer cases, there may also be a need for a child expert statement to be prepared.
We are looking for you who
are an authorized psychologist
have experience with conversations with children
have experience in or work within a child-related field
can create a safe environment for conversations with children
can work professionally, neutrally, and independently
would like to have experience in preparing child expert statements.
Scope and organization
The Court in Greenland plans, as a starting point, one child interview duty per month distributed over the 12 months of the year.
The duties are distributed among the authorized psychologists associated with the scheme. This means that each psychologist is not expected to take on a duty every month but is part of an overall duty schedule together with the other child experts.
The dates are planned in advance so that the duties can be distributed as much as possible, taking into account the individual psychologists' ability to participate.
This is not a permanent position, but tasks as a child expert by separate agreement with the Court in Greenland.
Fee
The task is compensated with 1,000 DKK per hour.
A scheduled child interview duty lasts for 4 hours and is compensated with a total of 4,000 DKK per duty, regardless of the number of child interviews conducted during the duty.
For child interviews that are held outside the scheduled duties by agreement, compensation is based on the time spent.
In special cases, there may be a need for the preparation of a child expert statement. This task is agreed upon separately, and the total costs for the preparation must be kept within 45,000 DKK. Any expenses for transport and accommodation may be in addition to this.
