We are looking for nurses for Upernavik Health Center throughout 2027.
The positions are for a minimum of 8 weeks, but there is also the possibility of longer employment periods.

In Upernavik, you will have the opportunity to use your nursing experience in a daily life where you get close to the patients and take responsibility for many different types of patient pathways.
You will meet patients of all ages and life situations and become part of a health center where professionalism, independence, and close interdisciplinary collaboration are a natural part of everyday life.

A daily life with professional breadth

As a nurse at Upernavik Health Center, you will have a varied workday with both planned and urgent tasks.

Your tasks will include:

• Nursing consultations and follow-ups
• Emergency room and acute work
• Care, observation, and treatment of hospitalized patients
• Telephone consultations, triage, and advice
• On-call work
• Interdisciplinary collaboration around patient pathways
• You will have the opportunity to work independently and use your clinical skills broadly. At the same time, you will be part of a team where we support each other and tackle tasks together.

Upernavik Health Center

The health center has 14 beds as well as an outpatient clinic and emergency room. In addition, we have our own laboratory and medication distribution for the city's residents.
The many functions gathered in one place provide a versatile workday and the opportunity to follow patients through different parts of their pathways.

Experience from emergency rooms, acute reception, or other acute nursing is an advantage.
It is an advantage if you speak both Greenlandic and Danish, but it is not a requirement.

Employment period

We are continuously looking for nurses throughout 2027.

The minimum period is 8 weeks, and we would very much like to hear from you if you have the opportunity to stay for a longer period.

Upernavik

Upernavik is beautifully located against a mountain and is one of the northernmost towns in Greenland. About 3000 residents live here, distributed in Upernavik town and the associated settlements. The town is special with its nine settlements, which means that most of the residents in the area live in the settlements. In winter, you can, among other things, go dog sledding on the ice, experience the northern lights, and days when the sun does not rise above the horizon. In the summer months, fishing, whale watching, and boat trips are popular. From May to August, you can also experience the midnight sun.

Housing

Housing will be provided according to the rules applicable at any time in the Greenlandic Health Service.

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

If you have completed a relevant diploma education or other further education, this may form the basis for qualification supplements according to the applicable collective agreement.

Citizenship

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that employment is conditional on a valid residence and work permit. A residence and work permit can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
