We are looking for a general practitioner for a challenging medical job in Maniitsoq, where you will work with patients in various specialties. The position involves collaboration with other staff groups and the opportunity for supervision from senior doctors in Nuuk. Applications must be submitted in PDF format.

Medical Position in Maniitsoq

We offer:

  • A professionally challenging medical job with patient contacts in almost all specialties.
  • A close and well-functioning collaboration with the other staff groups at the location, as well as the possibility for telephone supervision/support with the specialists in Nuuk.
  • This is a job where you primarily work with general medicine in the outpatient clinic. Additionally, you will admit and treat mostly infectious disease and psychiatric patients at the health center. Furthermore, patients are transferred for further specialized treatment at Queen Ingrid's Hospital in Nuuk.
  • Occasionally, minor surgical procedures are performed, but we do not expect you to have surgical competencies.

We are looking for you, who:

  • Preferably is a general practitioner. Other doctors with good general medical competencies, as well as younger doctors who have enough experience to take independent shifts, are also welcome.
  • In addition to professional competencies, the ability and willingness to collaborate respectfully is highly prioritized.

About us:

  • Maniitsoq’s Health Center and the 3 associated villages Kangaamiut, Atammik, and Napasoq serve approximately 3,300 citizens in total. We are part of Region Qeqqa (Central). We have about 55 employees.
  • The health center has a well-functioning outpatient clinic as well as an emergency room and an inpatient department, where there is room for 18 hospitalized patients of all ages, as well as various disease patterns.
  • There is daily access to laboratory, X-ray, and ultrasound.
  • Additionally, we have somatic/psychiatric home care, health care, maternity care, physiotherapy, family therapy, venereal and contraceptive clinic, as well as nursing consultation, operating room, and pharmacy.

Housing

Housing will be provided according to the rules applicable in the Greenlandic Health Service at any given time.

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Doctor/Dentist: Employment is conditional upon your ability to present valid Danish authorization.

Nurse: Employment is conditional upon your ability to present valid Greenlandic authorization (apply via www.nun.gl)

Citizenship

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that employment is conditional upon valid residence and work permits. Residence and work permits can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
