A position in a short-term substitute role as a health visitor at the Health Center in Tasiilaq is available for occupancy from November 1, 2026, to January 13, 2027, or by further agreement.

The work is 40 hours a week and includes on-call allowances.

As a health visitor, you are also very welcome to make contact if you wish for a substitute position or employment at a later time in the year 2027.

The employment can provide you with an exciting and challenging professional and personal experience.

The health visiting service in Greenland is part of the healthcare system, and one reports administratively to the department nurse and professionally to the regional doctor.

In Greenland, work is conducted according to nationwide guidelines.

As a health visitor, you can expect to have an exciting and inspiring job, focusing on health promotion and preventive work in homes and at schools in the town of Tasiilaq and its settlements. The health visitor plans and vaccinates the district's children.

You have a close collaboration with the midwife and the other staff at the health center, and you have a permanent interpreter who is already familiar with the town and the families associated with the health visiting service.

A bit about Tasiilaq:

• Tasiilaq is the largest town in East Greenland with around 3000 inhabitants, including the 5 surrounding settlements. There is the possibility of planning settlement trips, where the children in the settlements are visited/vaccinated. The health visitor goes on settlement trips about 2-3 times a year to the 5 settlements.
• The town is remote with the most beautiful nature and views right outside the door.
• The nature close to the town offers many hiking opportunities, fresh air, and in winter the possibility for cross-country skiing, going to the ski lift, and taking snowmobile and dog sledding trips, via local tourist operators. Especially in summer, there are opportunities for sailing and cabin trips.

Housing

Housing will be provided according to the rules applicable in the Greenlandic healthcare system at any given time.

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that employment is conditional on a valid residence and work permit. A residence and work permit can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
