Avannaata Municipality is seeking an experienced coordinator for the elderly sector to start on October 15, 2026 or by agreement.
The position is centrally located in the Administration for Family in Ilulissat.
The position reports directly to the head of the Benefits Department under the Administration for Family. The employee will function as a coordinator within the social effort in the elderly sector in Avannaata Municipality's four towns and will coordinate and further develop the work in Avannaata Municipality in connection with the upcoming law on support for the elderly, which is expected to come into force in 2027.
As a coordinator, you should expect to travel to other residences in Avannaata Municipality. Conducting smaller courses as needed will also be part of the job responsibilities.
In your daily work, you will collaborate with the permanent staff in the Administration for Family and participate in the ongoing development of the area, including advising the political committees.
Work and responsibilities include, among other things:
·Coordination of the operation of nursing homes
·In collaboration with the staff in the administration, develop and implement personnel and work-related structures and procedures at the nursing homes
·Ensuring that the rules for the implementation of legislation in the elderly sector are adhered to correctly
·Planning and implementing initiatives and projects in collaboration with various professional areas
·Advising management on the efforts in the elderly sector
·Dialogue with management about the development of the area
·Cross-sector collaboration on initiatives, budgeting, and budget follow-up
We expect you to:
·Have experience working in the elderly sector
·Have experience from the public sector
·Have management experience, but this is not a requirement
·Have an understanding of organizational development

Salary and employment conditions:
Employment will be in accordance with the applicable agreement between Naalakkersuisut and the negotiating organization.
It is a condition for employment that satisfactory information is provided in the criminal record. Once the applicant has signed consent for this, the employer will obtain the record from the National Police.
Housing may be provided for the position. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses will be provided according to the applicable rules at any given time.
