Queen Ingrid's Hospital's social department "Sana Social" is looking for a qualified Social Worker or Advisor in Social Work starting December 1, 2026, or by further agreement, for a full-time position

We are looking for you, who is a qualified social worker and has a desire to collaborate interdisciplinary with the hospital's other staff on severely ill patients and the solution of or assistance with their social issues.

Working hours are from 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM on all weekdays.

About us:     

The position is organizationally placed under the Psychiatric area. The Psychiatric area consists of a psychiatric outpatient clinic, a secretariat, ward A1, psychiatric therapy, and the district psychiatry Ikaarsaarfik.

The Psychiatric area is overall led by the Chief Physician and a Chief Nurse.

"Sana Social" is led by the Chief Social Worker and Sana Social offers services for patients and departments at Queen Ingrid's Hospital, with case processing done in close collaboration with the patient's home municipality.

In your daily work, you will be dealing with the following tasks:

• Social data collection and social history
• Advice and guidance to hospitalized patients
• Applications
• Supervising the mentally ill's social conditions during hospitalization
• Being a contact link to the municipalities' social administrations, pension offices, and disability departments in socially related tasks, etc.
• Calling and participating in interdisciplinary network meetings / discharge meetings between Ikaarsaarfik and other partners
• Being the meeting leader and writing minutes, as well as documenting in electronic patient records.

We are looking for you, who:

• Is educated as a social worker
• Is bilingual (Greenlandic – Danish)
• Can handle difficult issues
• Has knowledge of social legislation and experience with social work in Greenland
• Can work independently and responsibly
• Is trustworthy and good at entering into a professional caring relationship
• Can communicate clearly and distinctly
• Enjoys challenges and is creative
• Has knowledge of IT at user level

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
