The housing unit Manngua 6 is looking for an employee with a pedagogical background

The Disability and Social Psychiatry is looking for a pedagogical background for Manngua 6. If you have your heart in the right place and want to make a difference for our residents, you are exactly the person we need as our new colleague.

The position is a full-time position of 40 hours a week, with day, evening, and weekend shifts. You will work closely with your colleagues to support our residents in their development.

The housing unit Manngua 6 is one of the Disability and Social Psychiatry's housing units in Nuuk, and has residents aged 18-67 years, with mental and physical disabilities. Your core task will be to help the residents develop their mental, physical, and social skills, so they can live as independently as possible. Together with your colleagues, you will support the residents in living as good and meaningful a life as they wish. In addition to our 9 residents, the housing unit consists of 16 employees.

Your tasks:

∙To work on developing residents towards a higher degree of independence and increased quality of life, including through working with residents with action plans

∙To motivate and support residents in daily activities such as walks, shopping, cooking, and medical visits

∙To strengthen the community in the housing unit through collaboration with colleagues, leaders, and residents

The tasks are solved in close collaboration with the other employees and partners of the housing unit, including Ikaarsaarfik, SANA, the Police, the correctional service, and caseworkers.

We expect you to:

∙Be educated in pedagogy.

∙Be caring and welcoming, and see that this is the way to a good working environment

∙Have a desire to develop yourself and our department, so that it makes a significant difference for the resident

∙Work independently and collaborate with other professional groups

∙Be stable and adaptable in a busy everyday life

∙If you have experience in psychiatry, it is an advantage, but not a requirement.

About us:

In this position, you will become part of a larger community: We are a department with eight housing units, five housing collectives, two activity and social offers, and three support corps distributed in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
