Queen Margrethe's Health Center in Paamiut is looking for doctors for temporary positions in 2027. The position is duty-free with great responsibility and the opportunity for independent work. Do you want to work as a doctor in Greenland and make a real difference for an entire town?

Queen Margrethe's Health Center in Paamiut is looking for doctors for shorter and longer temporary positions in 2027, preferably with a minimum duration of 6 weeks. The employment can possibly be combined with work at Queen Ingrid's Health Center (DIS) in Nuuk.

In Paamiut, you are the only doctor in the town. The position is on-call free and offers a unique opportunity to work independently with a broad clinical responsibility, while also having close collaboration with colleagues and specialists.

We offer challenging and developing workdays, where you will strengthen both your professional and personal skills. Together with the health center's other staff, your task is to ensure the best possible treatment and care for the citizens of Paamiut.

There is an opportunity for telemedicine review of hospitalized patients with specialists from Queen Ingrid's Hospital (DIH). In addition, there is close cooperation with both DIH and Queen Ingrid's Health Center (DIS). Any inquiries outside normal working hours are handled jointly between the nurses in Paamiut and the doctors in DIS.

We offer

  • Working hours on weekdays from 08:00 to 16:00.
  • An on-call free position with allowances according to the applicable agreement.
  • If you are called in outside normal working hours, the hours will be compensated later.
  • Close collaboration with specialists in all specialties at DIH as well as the doctors at DIS.
  • Opportunity to develop broad clinical skills and work independently.
  • Insight into and experience with the Greenlandic healthcare system.

We are looking for you who

  • Is curious, open, and engaged.
  • Thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration and has good collaboration skills.
  • Preferably has experience in general medicine or internal medicine, but this is not a requirement.
  • Has at least a couple of years of clinical experience.
  • Wants to work at a smaller health center as the only doctor.
  • Can work independently and take responsibility.
  • Has Danish authorization and the right to work independently.

About us

  • Queen Margrethe's Health Center is part of the Health Region Sermersooq.
  • Paamiut is located on Greenland's southwest coast.
  • The town has approximately 1,200 inhabitants.
  • The health center is staffed with 1 doctor, 3 nurses, 1 health assistant, 2 medical students, 1 physiotherapist, as well as health helpers, interpreters, porters, and cleaning staff.

Housing

Housing will be provided according to the rules applicable in the Greenlandic healthcare system at any time.

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, according to the agreement/contract applicable at the time of employment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Citizenship

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that employment is conditional on a valid residence and work permit. Residence and work permits can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
