Civil Engineering Electrical Engineer at Inussuk, Pituffik Space Base

For our CE team, we are looking for a skilled electrical engineer/installer.

As an electrical engineer in Civil Engineering at Pituffik Space Base, you will play a central role in supporting our design teams through design, planning, and supervision. The role involves supporting our projects by designing and planning electrical tasks with a focus on USA NEC-compliant electrical systems, including high voltage, both on new and existing installations. Your responsibilities will include preparing detailed job descriptions, drawings, and material lists for craftsmen, as well as contributing to workflow planning and efficiency initiatives. Strong technical knowledge and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously are crucial for success in this position. It is also expected that you act as POC during colleagues' absence, actively contribute to the team's overall success, and positively contribute to collaboration across teams/departments/professions.

You will report directly to our Chief Engineer.

Your responsibilities

• Design and plan electrical tasks with a focus on NEC-compliant systems, high voltage, and integration with new and old infrastructure.
• Prepare job descriptions, drawings, material lists for project execution.
• Ensure quality control in the work, including compliance with procedures, manuals, and relevant standards (e.g., NFPA 70/NEC, NFPA 780, IEEE, IBC, UFC, AFI).
• Meet deadlines in collaboration with the supervisor and contribute to optimal resource utilization in Civil Engineering.
• Plan workflow, material consumption, and routines to increase the department's efficiency without compromising quality.
• Make technical decisions within the overall financial framework and inform the chief engineer of deviations from PWS.
• Handle correspondence with USAF and facilitate communication between departments.
• Assist with ad hoc operational needs, including acting as a contact point for colleagues' projects during vacations and maintaining procedures/manuals.

About you

• Qualified electrical engineer, electrical installer, or other relevant electrical technical background.
• Solid experience with both residential and industrial installations.
• Experience with design, operation, or maintenance of high and medium voltage systems.
• Strong experience in following applicable standards, documentation requirements, and safety procedures.
• Experience with or knowledge of American standards (NFPA / NEC) is a clear advantage.
• Thrives with administrative tasks and technical documentation as a regular part of everyday life.
• Good communication skills in both Danish and English, in writing and speaking.
• Valid driver's license (category B).

• You have strong collaboration skills and contribute positively to the team.
• You are adaptable and motivated to familiarize yourself with new, international regulations.

Danish citizenship is required for employment, as well as a valid driver's license for passenger cars, and security clearance is necessary.
