Qeqqata Municipality's student home will have 12 school-seeking residents aged 13-16 in the school year 2026/27, who will attend 9th and 10th grade at Atuarfik Kilaaseeraq. The residents come from the villages of Sarfannguit, Itilleq, Napasoq, and Atammik. The student home is staffed around the clock, with personnel consisting of 1 manager, 1 deputy manager, 2 social workers, 2 assistants, 1 kitchen manager, and 1 night watchman.
Work and responsibility will primarily be
- Meal preparation on weekdays.
- Grocery shopping.
- Baking for evening snacks and cakes for birthdays.
- Cleaning of the kitchen and storage areas.
- Train residents in basic kitchen tasks related to cooking and hygiene.
- Ensure that the residents eat a varied diet and prepare meal plans.
Qualifications
- has an education as a kitchen assistant, nutrition assistant, or equivalent.
- Can participate in collaboration with the care of young people aged 13-16 years.
- is happy for young people.
- Can have a good collaboration with colleagues and young people.
- is stable and responsible and can work independently.
Requirements for the applicant
- you have the competence to teach the residents about kitchen hygiene and cooking.
- you must be able to collaborate with colleagues.
- You must be able to understand and speak Greenlandic.

Salary and employment conditions
Agreement in accordance with the agreements in force at the time of accession between the Government of Greenland and S.I.K.
Child certificate
The positions are covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has obtained a child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police.
Employment is subject to a satisfactory child and criminal record check, which will be obtained by Qeqqata Municipality.
Commencement on September 1, 2026.
