Uummannaq Health Center is looking for nurses

Ultra-short Christmas temporary position and temporary positions in the new year!

Uummannaq Health Center is looking for nurses for exciting and varied work. The town is one of the most beautiful places in all of Greenland and is known as Greenland's answer to Mallorca.

We offer:

  • Position in day shifts, where you along with the 2 other nurses take turns being on call in the evening/night hours (with a doctor as backup). Furthermore, day shift weekends approximately every 3rd week.
  • You will alternate between being in the inpatient department as the responsible nurse (which includes the emergency room) and in the shift room, where you independently see patients (with a doctor as backup).
  • You will get to use all of your skills and likely learn new things, as our inpatient department covers all specialties.
  • Furnished accommodation, which is paid over the gross salary.
  • Permanent employment may be considered for Greenlandic applicants or exceptionally qualified Danish candidates. In any case, there will be a 3-month probation period.

We are looking for you who:

  • Has broad competencies, especially preferably from emergency reception, medical or psychiatry.
  • If you have a diploma education as, for example, a treatment nurse (or similar relevant), you are a candidate for an additional salary.
  • Desires variation and excitement.
  • Has good collaboration skills and knows your own competencies.
  • It would be fantastic if you speak fluent Greenlandic. Greenlandic applicants must be able to communicate in Danish.

About us:

  • We are Greenland's third northernmost health center and are located 450 km north of the Arctic Circle, which among other things means that there is midnight sun while you are here.
  • We have permanently employed Greenlandic staff who help with interpreting but also solve many other tasks, such as Lab and X-ray. In addition, we have 2 nurses, 2 doctors, 1 pharmacist, and 4 Danish assistants in temporary positions. There are usually many joint leisure activities for the staff.
  • We are both a general practitioner, nursing clinic, pharmacy, and hospital for the entire island (around 1400 people), as well as serving 5 villages (together around 800 people) and make visits to nursing homes as a form of mobile home care.
