Technician for Operation and Maintenance of Aviation Equipment

Naviair is seeking a technician for the operation and maintenance of aviation equipment at FIC Nuuk. You will work with Air Traffic Management and equipment in Greenland, primarily in Nuuk. Responsibilities include operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of aviation systems. A technical background and knowledge of IT and network technology are required.

Naviair's technical team in Nuuk primarily deals with Air Traffic Management and has equipment located in most of Greenland, although central equipment is located in Nuuk where your primary placement will be. In the future, there may be a need to occasionally perform other maintenance tasks at different locations.

The team is often involved in exciting technical projects – both internal Naviair projects and projects for external clients such as NAV Canada, the Armed Forces, Tusass, and Greenland Servicepartner Kangerlussuaq.

Your tasks will include participating in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of aviation systems, where the areas of work include: Display, Voice, and VHF systems as well as recording equipment. IT and information systems are also a significant part of the daily tasks. You will be the permanent link between the technical specialists in Copenhagen and the external technicians involved in the shift arrangement - after thorough further training as an aviation technician, you will participate in an on-call duty, in rotation with these colleagues.

Your professionalism

  • is trained as an electronics technician or has an equivalent technical background
  • has knowledge of IT and network technology
  • has a fundamental technical knowledge of radio systems, transmission lines (copper and fiber), and crossfield technology
  • Has a good overall understanding of network context for system integration.
  • has knowledge of the Office suite and Windows at the user level
  • mastering English in writing and speech
  • has good collaboration skills and is service-minded
  • is conscientious and can work independently
  • has a driver's license for a passenger car
  • live in Nuuk

Salary and employment conditions The working hours amount to an average of 40 hours per week. Employment is initially on individual terms until a collective agreement is in place.

You should expect periodically changing working hours as well as on-call duty at home outside of normal working hours, after completing training.

Employment is conditional upon your ability to obtain security clearance for "Secret" (NATO SECRET) as well as your ability to be cleared by the Defence Intelligence Service (FE) for the classification level "Secret".
