GUX Aasiaat is looking for 1 cafeteria assistant.

In the GUX cafeteria, two main meals are prepared daily, namely breakfast and lunch. In addition, several smaller snacks are prepared in the form of baked goods, cakes, and snacks. Besides the daily offerings, the cafeteria also provides catering for meetings for employees, as well as catering for special events at GUX.

Nord Greenland Gymnasium has around 300 students from all over North Greenland. Our district extends from the Arctic Circle in the south to and including Greenland's northernmost community, Qaanaaq (Thule). This means that the vast majority of students live in the school's dormitories, and students under 18 years old eat all their meals in the school's cafeteria.

Furthermore, GUX has nearly 60 employees who daily use the cafeteria for lunch and snacks.

The goal in the GUX cafeteria is to offer students and staff nutritionally balanced food of high culinary quality. Thus, we prepare the food from scratch as much as possible and follow the recommendations from the NNR and the Greenlandic dietary guidelines.

We imagine that you have a great interest in food and that you are committed to making the daily meal healthy, nutritious, and not least, tasty.

The position is 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday. There may be work outside of the established hours during particularly busy periods, such as graduation.

We expect you to be able to start on May 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Remuneration is based on the applicable SIK agreement regarding apprentices and students.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving and relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing

An unfurnished staff housing can be assigned to the position according to the applicable rules at any given time. Housing cannot be assigned to individuals who already have staff housing or another property owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the assigned housing. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.

Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership conditions, etc. There may be a waiting period for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller co-housing communities or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets, such as dogs or cats, in staff or temporary housing.
