Disko Line is looking for guides/mates for the winter season 2027 in Il.
Do you want to experience the Greenlandic winter up close – both on land and at sea – and provide guests from all over the world with experiences they will never forget?
Disko Line is looking for dedicated and flexible guides for the winter season 2027 in Ilulissat, where the northern lights, snow-covered mountains, and impressive icebergs create the backdrop for a very special workplace.
We offer an exciting and varied everyday life with good colleagues, a strong community, and plenty of experiences in the Arctic nature.
About the job
As a guide/mate, you will be part of Disko Line Explorer, where you will work on our vessels and guide guests on the various winter activities.
Your tasks will include:
- Guiding on Ice Fjord Tours and Northern Lights Tours
- Guiding on trips to our cabin in the hinterland.
- Communicating Greenland's nature, culture, and history
- Welcoming guests and preparing activities
The winter in Greenland is both fantastic and unpredictable. Weather and ice conditions can change plans at short notice, so flexibility, cooperation, and a good mood are an important part of everyday life.
You will get with us
- A unique workplace in the Arctic winter
- A good camaraderie and a varied everyday life
- Thorough training in guiding, mate tasks, and the local area
- Responsibility, development opportunities, and experiences for life
We are looking for a colleague who
- Has a valid maritime safety certificate – this is a requirement for employment
- Is seaworthy and ready to engage in practical and safety-related tasks on board
- Is outgoing, service-minded, and enjoys communicating
- Has an interest in Greenland's nature and culture and thrives in outdoor life in winter weather
- Speaks English and either Danish or Greenlandic
- Is flexible, responsible, and a good team player
Has a driver's license and is willing to help with practical tasks
Experience with guiding and winter outdoor life is an advantage, but the most important thing is your attitude, curiosity, and desire to create good and safe experiences for our guests.
