Pilersitsivik's workshop in Maniitsoq is looking for a vocational teacher to plan and organize school programs for young people aged 15-29. The position requires experience with youth and the craft profession. Employment starts on December 1, 2026. The application deadline is November 16, 2026.
A vocational teacher for Pilersitsivik’s workshop
Pilersitsivik’s workshop is part of Majoriaq Maniitsoq and is a non-academic program that accommodates 10 students aged 15-29 years.
The program at Pilersitsivik is an offer to young people who, for some reason, have not progressed in work or education, to be motivated to find stable employment or to start an educational program.
The staff at the workshop consists of 1 vocational teacher and 1 assistant, who work full-time.
Work and responsibilities will primarily include:
- To plan and organize a school program in collaboration with the management at Majoriaq
- That you have experience in leadership and have a good willingness to collaborate with other businesses in the local community
- That you have an interest in supporting young people who have stalled after primary school, to be able to enter the workforce or to pursue an education
- Ensure that there is a good atmosphere at Pilersitsivik’s workshop.
- Ensure that the young people adhere to the workshop's rules of order.
Qualifications and requirements include:
- You have an education in the craft field or have several years of experience in a similar industry (experience from working in a workshop will be an advantage).
- You have experience working with young people aged 15-29 years.
- You enjoy working with young people.
- You have a good collaboration with parents.
- You are stable, responsible, and can work independently.
- You are physically and mentally capable.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions in accordance with the agreements in force at the time of appointment between Naalakkersuisut and AK. No housing is provided for the position.
Criminal record
Employment is subject to satisfactory child and criminal record checks, which will be obtained by Qeqqata Kommunia.
Start date on December 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
