The nursery Sikkerneq in Ilulissat, Avannaata Municipality is looking for a leader for employment November 1, 2026 or by further agreement.

The leader's immediate supervisor is the Head of Department for Daycare, Avannaata Municipality

Tasks and responsibilities:

·Work based on political goals for the children and youth area in Avannaata Municipality

·Quality enhancement of staff's professional and personal competencies through internal and external theme days, professional activities, and courses

·Introduce new pedagogical working methods

·Ensure a safe and secure daycare institution for children, parents, and staff

·Prepare information pamphlet about the daycare institution

·Work purposefully with new ideas and policies

·Daily close collaboration with the deputy manager

Qualities:

·Educated pedagogue

·Experience with personnel management and administration in a daycare institution

·Be responsible, have an overview, and the ability to empathize and adapt.

·Be able to handle stressful situations, and be flexible, cooperative, welcoming, and stable

·Physically and mentally good health, and an open and cheerful demeanor

·Be prepared to work based on the daycare institution's goals and action plans

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland and the negotiating organization at the time of commencement.

Housing is provided for the position.

Employment is conditional on satisfactory criminal records, which will be obtained by the employer from the National Police after the applicant's signature.
