Maintenance Manager

OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the safe, effective, and reliable maintenance of all mine mobile equipment and light vehicles at Nalunaq. The role provides leadership and direction for maintenance personnel and contractors, ensuring that equipment is available, compliant, and maintained to a high standard. The position is accountable for maintenance planning, preventive and corrective maintenance, work execution, spare parts coordination, cost control, safety performance, and continuous improvement across the mobile equipment and vehicle fleet.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide leadership and direction for the maintenance of all mine mobile equipment and light vehicles.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain planned, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for mobile equipment and light vehicles.
• Plan and prioritize daily, weekly, and long-range maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and operational readiness.
• Manage breakdown response, fault diagnostics, repairs, inspections, servicing, and major component change-outs.
• Monitor equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance costs, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Lead root cause investigations for equipment failures and ensure corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure maintenance records, work orders, service histories, inspections, and compliance documentation are accurately completed and maintained.
• Coordinate spare parts, consumables, tooling, and maintenance inventory requirements to support reliable fleet performance.
• Manage maintenance personnel and contractors, including work allocation, supervision, performance expectations, and safe work practices.
• Work closely with operations, mining, procurement, warehousing, HSE, and site management to support safe and efficient mine operations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for mobile equipment and light vehicle maintenance activities.
• Promote a strong safety-first culture, continuous improvement, and high standards of housekeeping and equipment care.

• Strong planning and scheduling skills
• Ability to analyse equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
• Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple departments
• Experience with underground mining mobile equipment, fixed plant support equipment, light vehicles, and fleet maintenance systems is desired.
• Experience in remote camp-based mining operations and rotational work environments is desired.
• Trade qualification, technical diploma, or engineering background in mechanical, electrical, or maintenance disciplines is desired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be physically capable of performing manual labor, including lifting heavy equipment and tools.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and rugged environments.
• Physically capable of handling long hours, standing for extended periods, and performing manual tasks as required.

Rotation based position, with 34 days on, and 30 days off. Remote location with extreme weather conditions.
