Educator/social worker for the residential institution B-1443:

We are looking for 1 committed educator/social worker who would like to work in a well-functioning residential institution for 4–10 years in Qaqortoq. Start date on November 1, 2026 or by agreement.

We are looking for an educator or social worker to work at a children's home. The department is located in a large house in the middle of the city. The department is staffed for 6 children. The work in the department consists of providing children with the opportunity to develop in a safe and caring environment with clear boundaries and clear adults. Emphasis is placed on working with relationships and attachment. We work based on infant therapy and a respectful approach to the children. It is important that the child feels respected, accepted, understood, and acknowledged.

Child certificate:

This position is covered by the legislation on the obligation to obtain a child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has obtained a child certificate.

The child certificate will be included in the municipality's assessment of who is hired for the position.

For the position, it applies that applicants must be trained educators/social workers and preferably bilingual.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the municipalities and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing area

For the position as educator/social assistant, unfurnished staff housing can be provided according to the applicable rules at any time. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the assigned housing. Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the housing, ownership conditions, etc. The staff housing must be vacated when employment ends. There may be a waiting period for permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller co-housing or in hotel apartments.
