Sales assistant for The GlacierShop, Ilulissat (full-time)

The GlacierShop in Ilulissat is looking for a full-time sales assistant. We sell clothing, jewelry, art, and gifts from Greenlandic and Nordic artists and craftsmen, and we have guests from all over the world in the store every day.

About the job

You will help keep the store running from morning until closing time. We are a small team, so we all wear multiple hats and help each other with what needs to be done. No two days are the same.

Your tasks include:

• Serving and advising customers, both locals and tourists

• Cash handling and daily cash reconciliation

• Opening and closing the store

• Preparing, cleaning, and organizing the store and stock

• Receiving goods, inventory management, and counting

• Assisting with daily marketing, online and in-store

• Other tasks in daily operations as needed

We envision that you:

• Are service-minded and enjoy meeting people

• Are reliable, punctual, and can work independently

• Are practical and take initiative where needed

• Speak English. Danish or Greenlandic is an advantage

• Have experience from retail, café, tourism, or similar. If you are new to the field, we will train you

• Full-time position with a fixed hourly wage above the usual level in the field

• Additional pay for evening and weekend work

• A small, informal team where you quickly gain responsibility

There is weekend work, and in the peak season, we work according to a staggered schedule with every other weekend off.
