At Qasapermiut, we work every day to create a safe, stable, and meaningful everyday life for boys and young people who have experienced neglect. We are an open residential institution in Sisimiut, where relationships, clear structure, and presence are central – because it is the foundation for young people to find peace, develop, and gain new opportunities.

In everyday life, you will encounter a workplace where pedagogy is translated into practice in everything from conversations and shared meals to school and leisure activities. Our approach is cognitive, resource-oriented, and appreciative, and we consciously work to strengthen each individual's competencies, sense of responsibility, and belief in their own abilities. For many young people, it is also about rebuilding trust in adults – and here it makes a big difference that we stand firm, even when it is difficult.

We emphasize collaboration and professional sparring within the staff group, and you will become part of an environment where people help each other and share knowledge across the board. At the same time, we have a close interaction with other residential institutions in Sisimiut, so we can utilize resources and facilities as effectively as possible for the benefit of the young people.

Qasapermiut is owned by the Government of Greenland and is organizationally anchored under the Social Authority.
