Puilasunnguit

At Puilasunnguit in Paamiut, we work every day to create a safe, dignified, and meaningful everyday life for our residents. We are a municipal nursing home under Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq, and for us, care is not just about nursing – but about presence, respect, and good relationships between residents, relatives, and staff.

Puilasunnguit includes both a nursing department and a dementia department. This gives us a daily life with very different needs and tasks – and therefore also a strong focus on professionalism, collaboration, and meeting each person where they are. We emphasize creating homely settings where residents can feel seen, heard, and safe.

As a workplace, we are a house with many professions gathered under one roof – from nursing to kitchen, cleaning, and home care. We believe that the best everyday life is created in community, and we actively work on developing both job satisfaction, stability, and cohesion, because it directly affects the residents' well-being.

We continuously prioritize competence development and shared learning. When all staff groups pull together, collaboration becomes closer, and we stand stronger in the situations that may arise – not least in the work with dementia, where calm, understanding, and good tools make a big difference.
