Pilersitsivik Paamiut

At Pilersitsivik in Paamiut, we work every day to provide young people with a safe, practical, and meaningful path forward – towards jobs, education, and a daily life with more structure and self-confidence. We are a program where learning happens hands-on, and where one is met with respect, patience, and clear expectations.

Our teaching is based on Greenlandic culture and the skills that make sense locally. Here, one can work with hunting and fishing tools, learn about crafts such as welding and repair, and gain insight into the maritime field. At the same time, we train the things that make a difference in daily life and in the workplace: arriving on time, keeping agreements, and collaborating with others.

Pilersitsivik is closely linked with Majoriaq, and for many, the combination of practical workshop teaching and the opportunity to strengthen academic skills is an important stepping stone. We emphasize that development can happen in Paamiut – in familiar surroundings – so more can take the next step without having to move away to get started.

We are located in collaboration with Imarsiornermik Ilinniarfik (Greenland's Maritime Center) in Paamiut, where the facilities provide space for both teaching, workshops, and a strong learning environment. As a colleague with us, you will be part of a small team where we lift together, share knowledge, and work closely with the young – focusing on progression, relationships, and concrete results.
