About the company
At the Ombudsman for the Inatsisartut, we work to ensure that citizens in Greenland encounter a public administration that handles cases correctly, properly, and in accordance with applicable law and good administrative practice. We are an independent control body, elected by the Inatsisartut, and our task is to investigate whether authorities under the Self-Government and the Greenlandic municipalities act correctly – both when citizens complain and when we take up cases ourselves.
Our daily work is professionally strong and characterized by thoroughness: We read, assess, and analyze case processes, make decisions based on a solid legal foundation, and communicate our assessments clearly and understandably. We work closely together, discuss complex issues, and prioritize that the quality of our work can be felt – both by citizens and by authorities.
We are located in Nuuk and are a small office where one quickly gains responsibility and influence over task resolution. This also means that collaboration, trust, and a respectful tone are central to our daily work – and that as an employee, you have the opportunity to follow cases from start to finish and see how our work contributes to strengthening the rule of law in Greenland.
If you thrive in a meaningful job where professional integrity, neutrality, and care are in focus, and where you want to help make a concrete difference in the interaction between citizen and authority, then the Ombudsman for the Inatsisartut is a place where you can develop – and be proud of what you go to work for.
