Nuussuup Atuarfia - AKO Neriusaaq

At Nuussuup Atuarfia and AKO Neriusaaq, we work every day to create a safe, warm, and meaningful everyday life for children in Nuussuaq – both during school hours and when the school day ends. We are part of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq, and our common focus is the children's well-being, learning, and development in an environment where presence and clear frameworks go hand in hand.

Nuussuup Atuarfia is a tiered public school with teaching from 1st to 10th grade. Here you will encounter a daily life where collaboration across means a lot – among teachers, educational staff, parents, and the rest of the school's team. We have both regular classes and special classes, and we emphasize seeing each individual child and creating space for different needs and ways of learning.

AKO Neriusaaq is our after-school care program for the youngest schoolchildren. Here it is about providing children with a safe place to land, to relax, to be with friends, and to be met by adults who create good relationships and a positive tone in the community. We consciously work to strengthen the children's self-confidence and social skills, and we create frameworks where there is room for both play, creative activities, and breaks.
