KANUAPNA / GFJK

At KANUAPNA / GFJK, we work to ensure that fishing and hunting in Greenland is conducted legally, responsibly, and on a sustainable basis. We are Greenland's Fisheries and Hunting Control, and our daily work involves translating rules and agreements into practice – close to the sea, close to the industry, and close to the local communities that rely on the resources.

Our tasks are diverse: from control and supervision in Greenlandic waters to work with port state control and efforts against illegal, unregulated, and unreported fishing (IUU). We also collaborate internationally because fishing does not stop at national borders – and because strong control and transparency are crucial for both nature and the industry's conditions.
