At the Social Services Administration (Socialstyrelsen), we work to strengthen social work throughout Greenland – focusing on creating better frameworks and better support for children, young people, adults, and families who need help. We are part of the public Greenland, but our everyday life is closely linked to practice and the people the efforts concern.

A large part of our work involves translating knowledge, legislation, and professional methods into concrete support that can be used by municipalities and professionals. We do this, among other things, through guidelines, counseling, and professional collaborations across sectors – and by developing and operating national services where there is a need for a coordinated effort.

We also have a number of initiatives and services that reach directly out to citizens or support professional environments nationwide. This can be specialized programs, counseling efforts, or knowledge that helps create more coherent and safe solutions – regardless of where in the country one lives.
