Institution Tikiusaaq

At Institution Tikiusaaq, we work every day to create a safe and warm everyday life for the children – in a house where both children, parents, and colleagues should feel genuinely welcome. We are an integrated daycare institution in Nuuk, and our daily life is built on presence, good relationships, and an atmosphere where there is room for diversity.

We have beautiful surroundings close to Inussivik, the stadium, and nature, and it means a lot to us to actively use outdoor life. Nature is an important learning space in our pedagogy, where children are allowed to be curious, exploratory, and in motion – and where we as adults help create calm, direction, and community.

As a workplace, we emphasize safety, a good atmosphere in the house, and strong collaboration across rooms and professional fields. We believe that the best conditions for the children are created when we take care of each other as colleagues, communicate openly, and help each other in a busy everyday life.

We are part of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq, and we work from a clear direction: to provide children with the best possible conditions for learning, development, and well-being – so they can grow up as resilient, healthy, and happy children who dare to stand on their own two feet.
