About the company

At Greenland Climate Research Center (GCRC), we work every day to make knowledge about the Arctic more concrete, more useful – and closer to the people who live with the changes. We are an internationally recognized research group anchored in the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources in Nuuk, where we build and anchor knowledge about Greenland's marine ecosystems and communities in a time of rapid climate change.

Our work spans widely: from the ecology of the sea and long-term monitoring along Greenland's coasts to the connection between ice, sea, and climate – and further to the societal and economic consequences of changes in the natural foundation. This means that we often work interdisciplinary and in close collaboration across natural and social sciences, and we focus on both solid data, local perspectives, and communication that can be used in practice.

As a workplace, we are characterized by curiosity, professional sparring, and a culture where one gets responsibility and the opportunity to influence projects. We are an externally funded department, and this provides a dynamic everyday life with international collaborations, fieldwork, new ideas, and a strong focus on quality in research and consulting.

We also have a clear educational profile and create connections between research and learning through teaching and course activities in Nuuk. For us, it is about developing the next generation of Arctic researchers and professionals – and about sharing knowledge openly, both locally and internationally.
