About the company
At Greenland's Nature Institute (Pinngortitaleriffik), we work every day to create the scientific basis that makes it possible to use Greenland's natural resources responsibly – while also taking care of the environment and biological diversity. Our research covers both the sea and the land around Greenland, and we translate knowledge into advice that can be used in practice by authorities and other actors.
We are a workplace where fieldwork, data, and professional immersion go hand in hand. A large part of our work takes place in close contact with nature and the people who live with it – and therefore collaboration, respect for local knowledge, and integrity become a natural part of everyday life. We also work internationally and participate in projects where we share experiences and develop new knowledge together with strong professional environments.
Organizationally, the institute encompasses several professional areas, including research in fish and shellfish, mammals, and birds, as well as environmental and climate-related issues. This provides an interdisciplinary everyday life, where as a colleague you can often collaborate across fields and gain new perspectives – regardless of whether you are involved in laboratory work, modeling, field logistics, or communication.
As an employee with us, you become part of an environment where curiosity and professionalism are at the center, and where the tasks feel meaningful because they have a direct impact on society and nature in Greenland. We emphasize good collegiality, an informal tone, and space for both responsibility and learning as you grow with the tasks.
