Grønlands National Museum
About the company
At Greenland's National Museum and Archives, we work every day to care for, understand, and communicate Greenland's cultural heritage – both the physical objects and the historical sources that tell the stories of people's lives in Greenland over thousands of years. We are a unified institution with two professional pillars: the museum and the archive, and it is felt in our daily work that we tackle the tasks together across disciplines.
Our work ranges from exhibitions, collection work, and preservation to registration, research, and communication – and we are proud to make knowledge accessible to both citizens, schools, visitors, and researchers. You can experience us in the heart of Nuuk, where the museum is located in the historic warehouses by the colonial harbor, and at the same time, we have a large digital and administrative everyday life, where archival materials and collections are handled professionally and securely.
As a workplace, we are characterized by high professionalism, curiosity, and a clear sense of purpose: what we do matters for how Greenland's history is preserved and told – now and in the future. We collaborate broadly with local museums, authorities, and international partners, and we emphasize that collaboration, knowledge sharing, and integrity are a natural part of the culture.
If you thrive in an environment where culture, history, and society meet – and where there is also a need for strong digital skills to support archive and collection systems, data, accessibility, and communication – then you will find that there is room for both specialization and development with us. Here, you will become part of a team that cares for something greater than ourselves.
