Fonden Orpigaq – Ilulissat

At the Orpigaq Foundation, we work to ensure that vulnerable children and young people in Greenland have a safer everyday life and a real chance to create a good life for themselves. We run a specialized social pedagogical residence in Kangerlussuaq and also have offerings in Ilulissat, where we support young people in the transition to a more independent adult life.

In Ilulissat, the focus is particularly on transition and housing training: training the very concrete skills that make everyday life work – such as structure, responsibility, and stable routines. This can be anything from cooking and shopping to keeping appointments, attending school/education, or arriving on time for work. We are close to the young people in what is difficult, and we celebrate the small victories when they begin to succeed.
