At the Department of Nature, Environment, Energy and Research, we work to ensure that Greenland's development goes hand in hand with consideration for nature and responsible solutions for the benefit of the entire community. We are part of the Naalakkersuisut and solve tasks that range from the protection of nature and the environment to climate efforts, energy and supply areas, as well as the frameworks for research.

Our daily work is about translating knowledge, legislation, and political goals into concrete management and good decision-making bases. This can involve everything from working with nature protection and environmental regulation to contributing to solutions in renewable energy, water and heating supply, and Greenland's climate goals. We collaborate closely with other authorities, municipalities, professional environments, and relevant actors – and we also have relationships with underlying and associated units in the area.
