SEARCH THIS POSITION For our village school in Kulusuk, Kulusumi Alivarpi, we are looking for two skilled and dedicated teachers to start on August 1, 2026, or by agreement.

Kulusumi Alivarpi is a school with about 39 students, 9 teachers, and a school leader. We teach from 1st to 9th grade. In the school year 2026/27, the students will be divided into 6 classes. Our teachers have classes distributed across special education, early years, middle school, and upper school.

Kulusuk is one of the largest settlements in East Greenland with 200 inhabitants. Kulusuk is a Greenlandic settlement with hunting and fishing at its heart and tourism in its embrace.

The content of the positions:

We are looking for two qualified teachers. Since the teaching staff is limited, one should expect to also teach subjects other than their main subjects. Additionally, one must be able to take on the role of class teacher, as well as other functions by agreement.

The tasks will be solved in close collaboration with the school's other teachers, management, and other staff, as well as the school's parents.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal record and child certificate. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the national police as well as the criminal record from the police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

A staff housing can be allocated for the position, for which a deposit and rent, consumption, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary accommodation, for which rent, consumption, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff housing is available. Relocation travel and moving of household goods are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
