GIP Industrial Contractors Ltd Greenlandis seeking qualified individuals to work at the Nalunaq Mine Site in Southern Greenland.

As we ramp up with this project, we are seeking motivated and talented individuals who possess the technical skills required to contribute to the project team. 

Role: Millwright, Red Seal

Location: Nanortalik, Greenland

The successful candidates will work in the field and be responsible to support the Company’s safety, quality and environmental programs, in the execution of the work. 

Duties include:

·Ability to perform duties independently with minimal supervision

·Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and manuals to determine work procedures

·Install, assemble, align, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment

·Perform rigging, lifting, positioning, and securing of machinery and components

·Inspect equipment, diagnose mechanical issues, and perform corrective and preventative maintenance

·Adjust, align, and balance machinery components such as pumps, conveyors, crushers, motors, gearboxes, and bearings

·Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and alignment equipment

·Conduct inspections and testing to ensure equipment operates safely and within specifications

·Complete maintenance records, inspection reports, and required documentation

·Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to meet construction and commissioning schedules

·Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliance legislation

·Possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment

The Ideal Applicant for this position will possess the following:

Required Education and Experience

·Red Seal Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) certification

·Must be familiar with working in construction and mining environments

·5+ years of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial mechanical equipment

·Experience working on large-scale industrial or mine construction projects

·Ability to work in a remote mine environment, including varying conditions such as temperature fluctuations, confined spaces, elevated work areas, and outdoor settings

·Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

·Experience with rigging, alignment, and precision measurement techniques

·Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented environment

·Able to make sound decisions while working in a fast-paced environment near equipment and personnel

Safety Requirements

·First Aid training would be an asset

·Fall protection would be an asset

·Remote Work in Northern Climates

·Working outside

·Local accommodations provided, with camp construction pending

·This position will be required to be on an extended work schedule, with longer hours and weekend work necessary to progress the project in a short construction season 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off)
