We are looking for new colleagues to ensure a professionally strong case processing of applications for residence and work permits for foreigners in Greenland. You will work in our citizen center in Nuuk, where you will have the opportunity to influence case processing and citizen services in a unit that is still in the development phase.

Your new workplace in Greenland
Our unit in Nuuk opened in the fall of 2025, and you therefore have a unique opportunity to make your mark on both case processing and citizen services in this unit, which is still in a development phase. We are currently staffed with six skilled employees and a unit manager.
As our new colleague, you will be part of a unit where our common goal is to ensure efficient workflows so that we can make correct decisions within the established service targets, as well as to provide professional and concrete guidance to employees and employers.
The unit is established in good office facilities in Nuuk. The office's location provides easy access to the city center with dining options, a cinema, and shopping. Furthermore, the office's location is a short distance from Nuuk's many amenities and beautiful Greenlandic nature, offering opportunities for skiing, sailing, and hiking.

Your everyday life with us
Your tasks will include, among other things, that:

make and communicate decisions so that they are legally correct and targeted at the recipient
-
make legal assessments, including whether there is a need for additional information in cases
-
contribute to clarification and development of practice in the unit
-
guided our users by phone and in writing
-
handle personal inquiries at SIRI's citizen center in Nuuk
-
collaboration with authorities and stakeholders in both Greenland and Denmark
-
contribute to the preparation of notes, responding to requests from the department, as well as contributions to ministerial support, etc.
We take your training seriously and make an effort to give you a good start. From day one, you will have an onboarding process where you are introduced to SIRI as a workplace and ensured that you are professionally prepared to begin case processing and tackle the unit's other tasks.
As we are a smaller unit, practical ad hoc tasks will also be part of everyday life, and you will have the opportunity to contribute broadly to problem-solving.

About you
We imagine that you have a relevant academic background, preferably a Master of Laws (cand.jur.). If you have another degree in social sciences or similar, you are also welcome to apply.
In addition, we envision that you:

wants to support the development of our unit, and you either live or are ready to settle in Greenland

has experience with administrative law – preferably in practice
-
is motivated by the specific case handling and has an interest in the immigration area

works independently, structured and efficiently

can communicate with you in writing and orally in both Danish and English. If you can also speak and/or write Greenlandic, that is just a plus.

The positions are permanent full-time with an average of 40 hours per week.
Salary and employment conditions
It is your master's degree that determines which collective agreement you are employed under. If you are a master's graduate, you will be employed under the agreement between the Ministry of Finance, the Agency for Governmental Management and Competence, DM, the Engineers' Association, IDA, and the Land Surveyors' Association for master's graduates, engineers, and land surveyors in the service of the state in Greenland. If your professional organization is Djøf, you will be employed under the agreement made between the Ministry of Finance, the Agency for Governmental Management and Competence, and Djøf for legal candidates and university economists, etc., in the service of the state in Greenland.
If you have a different educational background, employment will be based on an individual contract.
The area of employment is the Ministry of Immigration and Integration with associated institutions, and the workplace is the Agency for International Recruitment and Integration, Industrivej 31.1, 3900 Nuuk.
You earn vacation and special vacation days in accordance with what is stated in the respective agreements and the applicable landsting law on vacation at any given time.
You are covered by the Greenlandic Salaried Employees Act.
SIRI still provides housing in Nuuk.
Household moving and travel for commencement are provided in accordance with the applicable rules at any given time.
You are entitled to travel to and from Nuuk as well as relocation compensation according to the rules applicable to government employees in Greenland at any given time.
Paid holiday travel is provided for every 2 years of employment to the extent that it follows from applicable agreements.
You are reimbursed for additional expenses incurred during business trips according to the rules applicable to government officials in Greenland at any given time.
The Police Intelligence Service will conduct a security check on you so that we in the Ministry of Immigration and Integration can assess whether you are suitable for the position.
