IPPS - The Council for Human Rights is seeking an engaged bilingual Greenlandic/Danish communication officer or consultant who will contribute to promoting and protecting human rights in Greenland through analysis, communication, and concrete development work.
We are looking for a bilingual Greenlandic/Danish profile with strong communication and collaboration skills, who thrives in a small secretariat with a wide variety of tasks – from strategic analysis to practical implementation.
About the position
You will become a central part of the secretariat and take on a versatile role, working at the intersection of human rights, politics, and society.
Your tasks will include, among other things:

Plan and develop strategic communication, including content for the website and social media – with a particular focus on communication in Greenlandic.

Contribute to external communication, draft responses to consultations, and reports focusing on the implementation of human rights in legislation and practice.

Participate in monitoring the human rights situation in Greenland and identify areas in need of improvement.

Fundraising and implementation of communication and development projects in collaboration with colleagues.

Contribute to the secretariat support of the Council, including the preparation and facilitation of council meetings.

Handle inquiries from citizens and partners

Minor translations from Danish to Greenlandic
About you
We imagine that you:

Is bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish

Has a relevant higher education in communication or similar

Has strong written and verbal communication skills.

Has an understanding of the interplay between politics, administration, and human rights.

Thrives in both independent work and close collaboration in a small team.

IPPS - The Council for Human Rights is an independent organization that works to strengthen awareness of and implementation of human rights in Greenland.
The council consists of 13 members, who are served by the secretariat, and our common task is among other things to:
· identify and address human rights challenges in society,
· advise public authorities and private actors,
· as well as increase awareness of and engagement in human rights among the population.

Employment terms
